BioThe Kitchen Poems writing workshop was first created by M. Evelina
Galang, author of Her Wild American Self. In September 2001, former
students of the workshop re-opened Kitchen Poems as a part of
Chicago's Asian American Artists Collective. The primary goal of
Kitchen Poems is to create a safe space for Asian American artists and
writers to develop, share, perform and experiment with their work.
